I hope it is OK to post this here. If it is in the wrong spot please feel free to move it to correct section.
Today I drove to Stillwater and met Jack of SupraSport. I needed a new gasket for my Lipp turbo elbow. I have been in many machine shops before and I can say the place was very impressive. They actually prototype and machine many of the items they sell, not just drop ship like many businesses. The CNC machines are top of the line, and the shop was very clean, but packed with parts.
Had a good lesson in turbo housings, wastegates and saw so many of the items I want, like bushing kit, Mafpro, higher grade couplers, block off plate, traction bars. The list is long.
Perhaps most impressive was the VR-4 motor ready to be installed in their car. Jack said they expected to get around 800 h/p.
It's great to know these guys are working on improving what parts are available for our cars. Jack really took his time answering all my questions, seemed like a hell of a nice guy.
Not sure where I am going with this except to say I was pleasently suprised. I also got my gasket. Good thing I left my check book at home.

It's always a pleasure doing business with them. Nice to have a place that just sells mkiii parts since some parts are hard to find. Im just curious at why they arent a vendor on here?

Of course I can't speak for them, but it sounded like they are suppliers for many of the vendors here. They actually make the turbo housings, turbo assembly, Lipp products like the AFMs and turbo elbows. I also got the feeling they liked to sell wholesale. Apparently running SupraSport is not their full time business, they are a machine shop.
It also sounded like they had very good working relationships with Robert Pina and Jon Martindale, Jeff Tamulis and others.
Another thing I forgot to post on was the great tip I got on a spot to install the Mafpro on my car. Being mechanically challenged, and not knowing anyone near home who does this I was happy when I got the name and # of a business who has done quite a few of these on MKIIIs.

I have had bad experiences with SupraSport. Took them a LONG time to be me want I did not even want due to the fact they did not listen. A fellow Supra owner went up there for help installing the three-point strut par they sell. They asked him if he knew me and essentially had nothing good to say about me. I NEVER showed anything but politeness to them. I only called a couple times a week on getting my parts because they always said they'd be there soon but never had them when I called. They also never returned my calls. They have HORRIBLE customer service.

So we have some trouble with deliveries! The reason could be that we are trying to deliver parts for an out of production car. Some of the parts come from small shops that make those parts so you can get them when no one else could give a shit if they were made or not!
Many parts come direct from Japan, Canada and even New Zealand. If you want fast delivery on your parts than you should buy a car that anyone can get from your local dealer and also pay top dollar for stock or performance parts.
Almost all of the delay in shipping is due to the fact that we must buy or find those parts in a warehouse to get them to our door so they can than be shipped to the customer. A lot of the specialty items are made to order and will add time to the ship date.
So why don't you, the buyer that is even willing to pay next day service, stop bitching that you did not get your part on the next day and just be thankful that the part will be made for you car. There are many shops that keep your car alive and running.
If I remember right, you needed sleeves for the RK Bushing that you brought from SupraSport. You removed the sleeve or outside liner ( a big mistake) for the replacement bushing and needed replacement sleeves right away. We did not sell them or even make them and that made you more pissed off. So a late deliver on something we don't sell or make is not our fault.
Not only ours, but many other shops are out there making parts to keeping you car in running condition for which we get your crap. Ronny did make and ship you your sleeves, from New Zeland and did take some time to get to you.
I do believe you should not only give your apology for your attitude but also give a thanks that others care.

I think this is a topic that shouldn't be made to judge or create an image for a place. I think that EVERY business out there in the market has had a bad experience for different reasons. Am I standing behind them for their good/not so good excuses? Not necessarily. But it isn't ALWAYS the company that has the problems. Between the buyer, and the shop that is selling/making the part from across the country or even across the world for that matter, there are SO many things that could go wrong in between that are out of both the consumer and creators hands.

With that being said, I AM a consumer. I do not own my own shop, but I do have to have some symphathy and LOTS of respect to the ones to have shops. For example, Jon @ MDCmotorsports.
He's one of the coolest (although, goofy;);)) guys you will ever meet. With my own eyes, I've seen him work his ass off. The work he does is top notch and he knows his stuff. But does that mean 100% and EVERY customer will be satisfied? No. Excuse my language, but shit happens.

As I said, I am neutral in this thread which I foresee to become a huge argument over who's right and who is wrong.
Don't get me wrong...There are PLENTY of shops out there that have a lot going for them, but their customer service is terrible, but for the most part, it's usually just so much work and always having handfuls of work to do that it's just overwhelming.

I buy stuff, I've had problems, I get pissed. It's the norm! Let's all be happy and take advice from your Korean brother, Okay?!?!!!111 :biglaugh:

I am taking sides here, but just to clear things up.The late delivery for outer steel sleeves for the polyurethane bushing kit was no fault of suprasport.
That was the lst time a customer had requested outer steel sleeves,so I had to go out and buy a bigger lathe chuck for my lathe,so I could machine the outer steel sleeves.Waiting for new chuck ,manufacturing adaptor plate for chuck took some time and shipping to the U.S does not always go smoothly.
I have a full time job,and sometimes I am working my arse off all weekends and weeknights just to ship the poly kits for all you supra owners.
I have spent thousands of dollars,a lot of time to develop the poly kit for the mk3 supra because I wanted to help all you supra owners out there.
So please have some patience when expecting parts to arrive.
I admit that the manufacture of the steel sleeves took a long time, but there were other things beyond my control that affect delivery time for the steel sleeves.

Thanks,
Ronnie

First off,
I would like to thank leecheater for the good words that he gave to SuperSport, Thank You.
Next
I need to say to SYST, that I am sorry for getting down on you! I was not in a good mood last night and I made it seem that SYST was my problem. I was just lashing out at all the customers that think there can be no wrong committed on the there end and what kind of customer service is this.

As a small shop, as others out there, we are always over worked, under staffed and short on time and money! I was not looking for any pitty. Just remember that we are here making parts for the love of creating them, well maybe some money also, and are just as human as you are!

So, again I sorry for picking on you and did not intend to make a good thread go sour but you go me on a roll.

i have no issues with suprasport. ive orderd from there before and got my parts in a resonable amount of time. i plan to order from them again too!

ya gotta figure, if a small company is making parts for a car thats has not been built in 15 years that parts may take a little time to finish.
