Since I'm going Blue themed I was looking into getting some, but I've always hated the look of the ones on ebay that look like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/i763...002QQitemZ120219259740QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
I think it looks corny how the insides of the gauges are light up in a circle. I could of sworn I saw sets being sold that, that area did not light up. Anyone know where to get those? If not I guess I'll just go with blue bulbs. I looked on a bunch of sites could not find any. Thanks.

If you cant find the gauges dont get the regular 194 blue bulbs, they are really dim. After I had those in mine I switched to LEDs and that made them brigher. Heres a good place to get them from: superbrightleds.com

don't waste your money.. your stock gauge cluster is perfect... go buy some blue leds from superled.com or whaterver... and put them in... there like $20 and the difference is amazing!

The blue LED's are probably the better option but if you want the easy route I'm sure you could make the EBAY faces work. To get rid of the blue circles you could just modify the back of the gauge face until the light no longer shows through. This should not affect their appearance in the daylight either. Just a thought...

I'm probably just going to end up doing LED's. I need to do the CC + Switches anyway. Might as well have it match. My CD player is already Blue and I plan on getting some blue Prosport gauges as well.

PICS! I love the stock gauges, but I want them brighter. Does this mod just make them brighter?

I have gone with blue LED in my gauge cluster and it is great. Actually it is not distracting at all. Light is evenly distributed. I would prefer using the blue LED than buying that ebay set

ok, this is the only pic I have right off hand, Its blurry and a POS camera but it helps you get the idea. This is with the SINGLE led 194's, not the 5 way cluster like sheaff has, I plan on getting the 5's when I pull my dash out again to change the resistors for the tach change.

i did have pics, but they were on my old computer which crashed. the supra is so far from being able to power anything up right now, too. :(

however, they're an awesome red, perfect light distribution, no hot spots, and the dimmer still works great.

be wary, though, if you have a pre '89 dash and you convert to red, you won't be able to see the redline marks on the tach. ;) (which is why i'm custom building a cluster with defi gauges, and red leds, with the '89+ tach and speedo)

I put in the single blue led's,and was dissapointed by the light distribution. Not at all as bright as my Prosport blue gauges.
So,to the people that have installed the 5 way, there were no issues getting them in? No clearance issues?
