I put some cardboard infront of the rad and it helped a bit. The car blows really hot once it has had a good 20-15 mintues of driving now so its not horrible bad now I think blocking all the cold air to the rad with the cardboard helped a bit.

How do you get air out of your heatercore? Mine has been makeing that bubbleing sound for a while now and my heat is not working very well :1zhelp:

park on a hill, take the radiator cap off, rev the motor to 2k rpm, with the heater on full blast.

that should purge the air from the system.

dont burn yourself!

two things to try:

install a check valve in the heater hose running from the head to the heater to create a low pressure area for air to escape when filling up w/ coolant.

install a good thermostat. I'm using a high-flow Ford motorsport thermostat from a 4.6. The design is a little different than the standard wax bulb of most thermostats. also (by design) it allows more water to pass under high pressure (think of it more like a plate bypass. iirc, stewart makes a t-stat like it).

and yes, they are the same size (diam).
