Theres a metal fuel line that passes through the 4th and 5th intake runner.....how the hell do you remove this in order to get the head off??

that should be the fuel feed line. one end goes to the fpd on the rail. take out the banjo bolt there. then there is a junction block by the motor mount w/ another banjo bolt. take that one off. there is also a bracket right about the middle holding it to the block.

if you are talking about the other metal line that is the return. take off the banjo bolt at the fpr, then take off the hose clamp at the j tube.

edit- found a pic.

get a long extension. the longest you can find (join up if needed) and go from the top of the 4th or 5th runner down the gap till u get the union bolt. This way you can undo it from the top of the motor, not from underneith it. It took me a few engine pulls to work this technique out so i hope it helps. Its a 17mm socket u be needing.

Just a word, That hardline is easily kinked, consider replacing it with an FPD removal kit from SS or the like...
