please be very warry of ANY vehicle you purchase.

I had a guy try to scam me last night on an 03 r1.

the name on the title didnt match his name. He had bought the bike but never registered it, and now was trying to sell it to me.

walked away from that one.

Doesn't necessarily mean it was a scam, but he was probably a curbstoner anyway. They buy cars or bikes for cheap and resell them for more, without registering them under their own names, to not pay any fees. I would have walked away too.

Either he was trying to avoid sales tax or was curbstoning.

My brother means alot to me, IJ gave me an interesting idea, my bro has seen me hop up rides through the years(68 Pontiac Firebird, 95 5.0 mustang, 87 Supra, 2 '88 Rx7's, 2 280z's) and I think he sees my happiness and wants to join in on the fun, he apparently jumped head first into a bunch of sharks. Back to the Idea, I have an 88 Supra roller(no motor/no trans), I have a th350 trans and a chevy block out of my old V8 Z. I think I am going to put it together and ship it to him, he apparently needs a good base to start from and hopefully he will be able to see the mkiii through my eyes. I made up my mind, no stopping me now.

Cliff notes: Support your family, no matter how much you tell them something, sometimes they need to find out the hard way. Tis Life. Now when they hit rock bottom, be there to pick them back up.

its not just cars they pull this scam w/. i saw a set of coilovers on ebay someone was pulling a scam w/. they even tried posting them up on one of the supra forums too (can't remember which one). this was about a couple yrs ago. a member on another supra fourm was actually thinking about buying them...think he may have even been deemed the winning bidder. didn't start asking questions till it was too late.
