Ill take a pic tonight, but others know what Im talking about. Its that little vaccumm booster canister thing mounted on the block next to the starter. I was told it was for the EGR, since thats gonna be gone, can I remove it?

Also, the wire that goes to it from my wire harness I found was NEVER connected, so Im just making sure I can take one more thing out.

I think he's talking about the EGR vacuum modulator...it can be removed with the EGR. The VSV (attached to the intake manifold) can be removed as well...you will need to plug the vacuum lines running to it.

Same question though...why are you removing the EGR? No effect on HP and it actually helps to keep your cylinder temps down.

The 'canister' you are refering to is not part of the EGR sustem. It is there to provide a strong and continuous vacuum source for the "acoustic control induction system" (ACIS), which delivers low-to-high torque on demand.

It opens the valve at approx. 4k rpm.

And its power comes from a gate (flapper valve) inside the intake manifold, which stays closed (no vacuum) at low rpm and opens wide (vacuum applied)at high rpm for a grin-inducing boost without excessive fuel consumption.

I recommend leaving it because it works really well to get more torque from the N/A motor.

I can 'feel' mine when it kicks in. It feels like a burst of power.

Check out the 'emission system' section in the TSRM for a diagram of the EGR system.

I know what ur speaking of with the ACIS, well Ive always noticed my car kicks in with it, I wondered what it was and I found out months ago. Heres the wild part, this thing I wanna remove, has NEVER had the wire harness attached to it, the wires were cut.

I wanna remove teh EGR bc its just in the damn way to me, Im not looking for any gains, I just HATE it and its ugly and in my way. So can anyone show me pics of everything with it I can remove?
