As I thought about this a little more. I would purchase some coilovers and sway bars just to make it a little more fun in the twistys. Straight line performance is somewhat futile unless you are willing to drop some major dollars.

dude, its a fricken civic... rice that bastard out... and when people laugh at you... you still know u can smoke em in ur supra :p

either do NOTHING to it, or go all the way and make it the riciest car ever, take a paint scraper to the Honda label and put on a combo of Acura typeR Powerstroke Hemi v12 intercooled SI Pinto on the back.

we had a 79 civic that i beat the hell out of for yeas, same with my sister..dad just gave it to a kid a few yrs ago. it had 315k on it and was still running.. sure we replaced a ton of stuff on it, but they will run for a long ass time..

if you go fast enough they will skip across water like a stone...

edited, no we did not beat the hell outta my sister.. lol

It is a great idea. That is what Honda builds the Civic for. It is cheap, no power, so it gets good fuel mileage. And not having much power keeps parts from breaking. This is why Honda in general is so reliable. It is just like having a Corolla.

Did you see that, Jeff Lange?
Just what I have been telling you: Your Corolla that you keep telling me about is weak!

Thanks for the set-up, Nick ;)

Well ide say and agree with most people who say just drive it and save money for your supra.. no point in waistin money on a beater.. my friend has a 92 civic hatch for a winter beater.. has 280k on it and still runing strong and gets 40 mpg.. im thinking of pickin it up for my next beater when he gets rid of it.

Im going to try to get my dads old work truck for a couple hundred bucks when they get their new shippment in, they will sell the old ones dirt cheap, Its 98 F-250 4x4 with 180,000 miles and has quite a few dents and dings all over but it would be great for winter driving
