Because it's rare basically. Sure, you could have bought $20 worth os ss pipe and cut it to length, but then that's just pipe, it doesn't say HKS.

here you go down but not out...

This auction is for a rare HKS intake pipe. This HKS piece replaces your old 3000 pipe (directly over the engine). The pipe not only has a larger inlet (no more bottleneck) to increase horsepower, but also dresses up your engine bay. This piece is in great shape and is a rare find. Enjoy!!!

You people are obviously cheap cunts and if you don't think that's a good deal, phone HKS and ask how much a new-in-box one is. I'm sure is its many 100's of $$ if you can even get one.

Yeah its definantly a ricer mod..It makes me wonder why people spend $150 for a little pipe or $45 for buttons. I spent 5 dollars on a foot long mild steel pipe, and then covered it with reflective thermo wrap so it will avoid heat soak and still cover up the ugly pipe.

I had one...and sold it back in the day...never used it...brand new in box from HKS.

I paid $80 for it 2 years ago:icon_razz

......and....sold it for $80...to a guy in Australia.....

I still would like to have one...but with my FFIM set up there is no where to put it......

I could stick it on the hood and use it as a "ram air" duct...

its the asthetics, is why. People are paying that price because of the name on it or the rarity of the item.

1. Suprastore...:icon_conf I'm sure they have it in stock lol:naughty:
2. My engine doesn't have pipes over top either.

But like they, it's as rare as soembody will pay for it, but it does look good, bolt on and and work, and the same can't be said for all MA70 parts..

That's is true, but when we are talking about a 3 inch cast aluminum pipe, which has no moving parts, no complex designs of any kind, then yes, ofcourse it bolts on perfectly. It does work aswell, but like everyone has already thrown in the air, it works as well as a $5 mild steel pipe would, except this one was made by HKS and shows your devotion to the brand whenever somebody looks under your hood. That's it.

However...

Cast Aluminum Pipe sheds heat better than Steel Pipe
It is designed to fir the piep sizes perfectly for a HKS I/C kit
It has the mounts for the valve cover bolts to secure it.
It looks better.

That said my 7M days are over, so do as you will.
