I'm about to buy a supra but there are a few things I didn't like about it.
1.It has Venom 720cc injectors.:thumbdown
2.It has no thermostat.
3.It smokes after warming up,(kid said he overfilled oil with 6 quarts)
4.He was boosting pretty high on the stock turbo.
What do you guys think?:1zhelp:

Venom is definately a red flag, but it's up to you. You can always replace the injectors.

I run a quart too much in my wifes car and it doesn't cause it to smoke. He could have blown a turbo seal or some other seal to cause it to smoke.

It would really depend on how much he wants for it and how much you're willing to spend. Good luck.

He wants $2800. The turbo did smoke. He also said he blew the head gasket 3 times already, including a titan metal headgasket. Right now it has a cometic headgasket with ARP studs.

Does it have documentation of all the work done. If it doesn't i wouldn't touch.

Even if it does have the documentation, i wouldn't buy it for 2800.
Your going to have more problems with the car even if you get it for lower, you'd have to replace other parts you know since it is a 19+ years old car.
If i was you I'd just keep looking.

I run 6 quarts of oil in my car and it doesn't smoke. BHGx3, probably means he didn't prep the surfaces each time, so the head may be done...

I can promise you overfilling the oil a quart high will not make it smoke...turbo seals and/or valve seals and/or rings going out will.

Ask for the machine shop receipts on the work done to the head and decking the block. Sounds like this guys is trying to sell his problems ;)

If your buying a car for a dd then don't buy a beat turbo Supra. If you have a wheelbarrow full of cash, a garage, an engine hoist etc. and you want a lifelong "project", have at it!

If that car has been through 3 head gaskets, then you know the owner did not prep the block and head correctly.

Save yourself the headaches...
Buy a Supra that runs okay and you can enjoy it right from the start when you buy it....That way you can mod it little by little and enjoy driving it and you will get a feel of which mods and how they make a difference on your car.

But I'd say for that price you can get a good condition working supra.

Cheers,
Roy
