Ignition Timing

I can't turn my timing down past 15 advance . I have checked to see if I was one tooth out, but was not . This is a new cam sensor I'm dealing with . Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it ?

Check and verify that the check engine light comes on.

If it doesn't, check to make sure your diagnostic wire is inserted correclty.

If the CEL light comes on, and you still can't get her below 15....

Your CPS is ONE TOOTH OUT. Take the cam cover off, verify what tooth / teeth are lining up.

Mark those teeth (cps / cam).

Then move either one tooth left, or one tooth right.

Try again.

I had that problem with my BC264 cams. Every time that I went to push in the CPS it would jump a tooth. I couldn't figure it out until I pulled the CPS cover off to see what was going on. I really had to come in at an "off position" to get it to stop jumping off.
