Holy shit, what kinda security are you working? Any qualifications besides being strong and bulky?

Mr. Crispy knows how big I am. I'm not large.. about 5' 11" and 200 pounds (right now)

I also picked up another job about ten min after I posted this thread.. 100 for 4.5 hours plus tip.

I only got these gig's cause i became friends with a bouncer (good friends) and he's worked on getting my name out there.

The first gig is at a block party, stand there and look imposing. Free food and drinks.

Second is at a bar/dance club, free drinks all night long.

(drinks mean alcohol)

My mentality is to avoid beating ass unless i have to. But if it does come down to it.....

I'd love to take a few self defense classes.. beating ass isnt as important as restraining them.

Not really. My experience as a bouncer (did it for only a short time) was that you pretty much had to deal with a bunch of losers and a**holes. As a bouncer, your job would be to avoid fights at all costs. That means being as polite as possible to idiots until they cross the line. At that point you basically drag them out. If you start beating the crap out of people you are abusing your position, and will find yourself out of a job pretty quickly.

Good money though - I got $36/hour and the bartenders and waitresses had a small tip split with us. I worked Fri/Sat only 8 hours each day. Usually ended up making ~$700 for the two nights.

why the hell arnt you doing it anymore?

Bigger and better things came along. I probably would have kept doing it, except it really wasn't any fun for me.

I don't know where you're getting these jobs with free booze, but good for you, that's funny to me :icon_bigg

If I ever did security, I would do what ever it takes to look like Brock Samson.
LOL, nice job though, I guess you get more credit than selling cars.

Yea, it's a nice side job. It's all cash, which is sweet. It's great spending money, although I'll be putting most of the cash twards the mercedies.

Hopefully i can save up enough over the winter to pick me up a nice street bike for next summer

How steady is it? I was trying to get my cousin into the idea of being a bouncer, hes not exactly the brightest guy on the planet, but a 6' 7" 300 lbs, you cant really argue with him.:biglaugh:
