If the 02 sensor is bad on a GE, what are some symptoms?

Im just curious, I know my sensor is bad but Im wondering what are some of the normal things a car will do with a bad 02 sensor, or a completely shot one...

Im wondering if it affects:

- Idle
- RPMs (at idle)
- Smells (running rich)

I know most of it but I want others to justsay and confirm this stuff for me plz. For example, I know my cars running rich bc of this, but ya know, just asking all common problems.

Sometimes affects idle if it is deteriorated bad enough. Decrease in gas mileage is usually a noticeable sign if you monitor your MPG's frequently.

It could affect all three... the most notable being running rich as hell. I'm pretty sure the TSRM covers testing the O2 sensor.

well I know mines pretty much just dead weight sitting there haha. I was just wondering. I have a slightly high idle that kinda evens itself out if I drive more than 20 mins and the temp is right. Im running rich as a mother fucker and u can smell it when I drive haha. Idles a little rough, feels like its running rich. Just wanted to ask.

Yeah, I wouldnt doubt it being the freakin original, damn thing looks old, is busted like hell, and when I Was putting my engine back in after the rebuild... well.ll it got hit around, hard.

yes ,unplug the o2 and see if it changes , then raod test.but it will run rich if not working. the computer canttell if its warmed up yet so it dumps more fuel in.what codes are you throwing 51 -52-31.good luck .

I havent checked my codes yet honestly, I need to. Im sure its bad, about 99% sure haha, I just wanted to know if all these symptoms could be well linked to it being out.. if I unplug it and nothing changes, obviously a pure sign its fucked haha. Ill do that tomorrow after I move/
