It still idles at 2700 rpm with the TPS unplugged? Then I would guess the problem lies elsewhere.

For the idle problem, I would look at all your linkages and cables to make sure your throttle plate is fully closed and nothing is sticking or binding holding it open..

Once your sure it is fully closed. check for code 51 again try and adjust the TPS like the TSRM says and see if you can get code 51 to disapear if needed..

You should trip a code 41 now because the TPS was unplugged while running so that will need to be reset at some point.

If it all started with the ISC swap, I am back to testing the ISC function.

Thanks Joel. I'm gonna try to put the old ISC electronics in there and if it's back to normal, that means I got bad electronics from the person I bought it from.

Have someone shut your car off while you listen for the ISC to click after the engine stops.

It could be the mechanical valve in the ISC also that is not working and not the electronics. :dunno:

ive got a great idea! invest in a Haynes repair manual, honestly it will answer most of these basic questions and some of the advanced ones, but still im not trying to be an ass, but try picking one up.

Quite honestly that's one of the worst ideas I've heard in a while. The Haynes manuals tell you just about enough to get you in trouble without going into enough detail to help you fix it. If you're going to get a repair manual, try to find one of the hardcopy TSRM or there's always the online one.

Cliffnotes: Haynes manual = BAD NEWS!

JJ: I agree with you on high idle from code 51, but 2700rpm seemed too high for that to be code 51 related to me? Especially when he unplugged it and it did not change his idle at all. Just checking to see if my thinking is accurate so far?
