I just replaced the electronics on my ISC with newer ones, now I have a high idle, about 2700 RPM. Where is the idle adjustment screw? Can somebody hook me up with a pic? It's an 89 N/A btw.

Isn't it the screw on the right of the tb, it's close to the dashpot. You'll see a screw pushing against a sort of rubber boot for lack of words. Look right beside the tb on the side closest to the interior.

I already tried to adjust the two nuts and screw thing that pushes the rubber boot, but no results. As you can tell, I'm pulling codes 41 and 51, so they have to do with the TPS, but then again, I never had the problem before.

You probably need to adjust your TPS. A how-to on this is in the TSRM. There should be no need to adjust the idle screw- if it was idling correctly before, it should idle correctly when all of your sensors are correctly adjusted. Did you buy all of the sensors new? If not, maybe a bad sensor?

Can you link me to that?

Unplug your TPS and see how it runs. Code 41 is bad, code 51 can be adjusted out.

I would also say look at what ever you did to the ISC closely to see if there is a vacuum leak in that area.

You mean adjusting the TPS to solve Code 51? Why is 41 bad?

Yes, adjusting the TPS can fix the code 51, But there are other things like the AC switch "on", the clutch in/out of park or the gas pedal slightly pressed will also show a code 51. They all have to do with cruise control functions. (IDL and E2)

Code 41 is the potentiometer side of the TPS or the "position sensor side" and usually means your TPS needs to be replaced. (VTA and VC) or the connections are bad somewhere.

Here is a link for Code 51

Here is a post from Jetjock on code 41.

I doubt it will cause your idle to rev that high, but once you make the codes go away, reset your timing and go from there

Anything happen when you unplug your TPS?

BTW code 41 is stored in memory (51 is not) so you might want to reset your ecu once 51 is fixed and see if 41 pops up again...

I haven't tried unplugging the TPS yet, I'll go try that. And how do I reset my timing?

Let me know.. Timing can only be set with code 51 gone and the jumper installed in the diag block and moving your distributor until the timing is on 10 degrees.

Is there a TSRM page for this?

BTW, my car is in for the night, so we'll be doing this tomorrow.
