Got a 94 tt 6spd . The idle has been acting up staying in the 400 -700 range and wants to/does if you let stall and die in 3d 4th 5th (havent tired 6th) at low rpm i.e 1200 to 1900ish. sometimes in the 2000s

I have changed the spark plugs with ngk-bkr7e, gapped at 25
Checked compressions
180 ,175,175,175,175,175
Cleaned tha maf sensor with "maf sensor cleaner"
And still not running right and still running very rich to the tune of 8 mpg or so

Thought of putting the scanner on it just for the hell of it and
Dtc 13 - engine speed (rpm)
sensor above 1000 rpm
is what poped up
Havent been able to find much info on the net so far
Any advice would ?
would be very greatfull...

found this but not sure what the ne stands for

No NE signal to ECM for 0.1 sec. or more at 1,000 rpm or more.

and the other was ...NE signal does not pulse 12 times to ECM during the interval between G1 and G2 pulses.
Dont know what g1 and g2 is?

It basically means:

In order of most likely to least..

1) Your crank angle sensor or a cam angle sensor is failing.
2) Timing jumped while driving or belt is stretched causing a bad signal from the crank angle sensor.
3) Your wiring between one of those sensors and the ECU is failing/frayed/shorting.
4) Your ECU is bad.

I would first remove the crank angle sensor (also referred to as crank position sensor) and check if there are any metal debris or anything on it. This sometimes happens and causes an off reading.
