In that case you'd be a pioneer and either have to run a few probes and log the temps in the real world or maybe give it a hard pull on a dyno with the hood closed and shoot it with an IR Gun to see what's hotter.

Personally I'd coatNwrap it ;)
(reasoning here is the Rad discharge is going to be at least 80c so I'd guess the bay ambient to be well over 100c)

Yeah that's what I figured. I just found it odd that the concept was crapped on wherever I found the topic on other forums for the most part.

Slightly off topic but I've also read that ceramic coating it somehow increases the flow rate because of the properties of the coating? Didn't make a whole lot of sense to me but its not like I've got any practical experience with it.

I have this exact problem, so I've bought some of that reflective wrap for the IC pipe going to the 3000 pipe and I'll put it on when my damn car decides to work...
If I put my hand on the pipe as it enters the engine bay from the IC its very cold - as soon as it gets to the area above the turbo it gets really hot tho :(

I currently have heat wrap on my down pipe and a turbo blanket and it still gets super hot in the engine bay. I need to get my manifold wrapped tho because that gets so hot it glows red after a good run :( not good for nearby hoses. You might wanna think about doing that too, if you havent done it already?

Ceramic is quite effective, not sure on flow benefits though and I wouldn't use it inside an IC pipe in case it flakes.

I bought a bunch of the ACL Race series heat shield material and will fab up some shields to cover most of the hot pipes where possible.

It's not pretty, but I wrapped my crossover intake pipe with a layer of fiberglass header wrap and then a layer of reflective DEI Cool Tape on top of that.

I've mentioned it before, but I also installed my air filter under the headlight to pull in cold air from outside the engine bay. Ian, want to restate your large intake air temp drops when you added your cold air intake? People need to know how beneficial this is!
