I am kinda shoping around for a IC pipe kit for my 91. I have seen the cooleze and suprasport kits countless times but it seems that is all i have really seen most every car i see uses those two or has a custom made set. What kits have i not seen or have simply overlooked?? Pictures would be good if you have them. And yes i am weired i want my Ic pipes to look a certain way (the way the flow through the engine bay) I love the hks kit but the only way i have found it is in a 1500 dollar kit with their IC.

thanks in advance
BJ

You can either buy a premade kit that fits, or make you're own custom kit the way you want.

Doing it custom still costs around $500 when said and done with silicone connectors, alum pipe, tbolt clamps.

Not really...

I bought 2.5" aluminum intercooler piping kit from a company in LA on ebay.
It came with all the t-bolt clamps, silicone hoses. Bought it for less than $100 and managed to do all my piping for my aftermarket intercooler.

I made my own flange for my Blitz Bov and a friend welded into the pipe and thats it.

The only thing I have had to buy was 90 deg 3" silicone eblows because my intercooler inlet n outlet is 3".

All together cost me about $100....no leaks!
Cheers,
Roy

I got a kit for my talon from ETD Motors on ebay. (it is probally what tte is talking about since they are in LA) And the pipes are high quilty and the couplers are better than other ones I recieved off of ebay. They also make a nice looking IC kit for the mkIII supra.

30 bucks for all my silicone, 2,25 inch piping, and regular clamps instead of t-bolts, all for 280 all together, then my sweet ass drifmotion FMIC for 300 so 580 for a full on hardpipe kit and better FMIC.

It's doable just requires time and effort on your part.

I would like to see these IC pipes in aluminum that ppl have made for under $500. Getting the ends bead rolled alone is nearly $100 from any shop.

Just my cold side alone in 3" Mandrel bend using a $100 ebay kit (threw ebay connectors and clamps in the trash). Costed me around $280 total. I can garentee you that a pipe will not blow off and a coupler will not break at any boost level of my GT40.

My hotside I made of 2.5" mandrel bent steel. The mandrel bends I had from a past project, but still that side came out over $100 for clamps, two connectors, and an BOV adapter.

I guess if i had a stock turbo (or twins), I could have done it alot cheaper using cheaper parts that would be fine, but I did things so they would never have to be done again.

You can buy intercooler pipes from ebay with the ends already bead rolled.

I know there are ppl in here who have bought intercooler piping from ebay and I am sure their pipes and t-bolts held up to boost.

If you take your time and plan everything and do it right, it can be done.
A big plus is that you learn a skill and this counts as experience.

You buy premade stuff, you pay for someone's labour and material costs and dont forget the profits.

Roy

To follow through on Ian's statemtent, based on driftmotion's shopping cart total, not including shipping, the cost of all aluminum piping (2.5") with correct sized reducer couplers, 2 90's and correct sized t-bolt clamps, the total cost comes to $457.70, oh, that also includes a bigger spearco replica intercooler ;).

i bet you could go to your local muffler shop and have them bevel the VERY edge of the pipes to simulate the beads, i'm sure they'd do it for like $15

you'll be blowing a lot of pipes off with just regular hose clamps.

I just bought the entire set that I mentioned above for 511.43 shipped, not under $500.00, but then again, you didn't mention an IC pipe kit that included the IC ;). subtract ~230.00 and there you have it, plenty of money left over to tig the pieces together that way there's not tons of silicone everywhere AND enough money to bead roll...
