i was thinkin side exit exhaust system for my 87 supra....

i got an idea of putting a side exhaust system kit on my 87 supra...
i was wondering if any you know has done or tried this out.
i think it would be pretty fucking sweet. recommended brands or custom made? or just let me know your opinion on what you think of this idea....peace

I might be doing this with my supra as well since i dont plan on running any emmisions.

Youll probally have to have it custom made if you want to do it.

Where exactly are you planning on running it? After the back tire? Before? After the front tire? It's gonna be loud, that's for sure, but you may also loose more power off of this due to the bending required. If power's not you goal, then whatever floats your boat I guess.

i just wanted maybe something different than everyone has...
and plus it's the exhaust, if i don't like it, i can just change it

finding the perfect location might be something to look into.
don't exactly want to melt my tires while i'm driving...haha
and the whole loss of power deal, it sure as hell can't be worse
then the stock exhaust(2 mufflers and a cat). i don't want to lose
too much back pressure either, so i might have to work some
magic....it'll different, that's for sure

I've seen side exhaust on only one side and it looks quite nice. far from "Ghetto" if you know what you are doing.

I was thinking of putting a 45 degree bend section where the stock cat goes and having a pass. side exhaust pipe that I could swap out with the catback for a straight pipe application. Haven't thought about it in awhile though.

I plan on having mine run out somewhere towards the front of the passenger door. As far as a loss of power I dont think the bend will be any worse the the crossover that any other supra exhaust has.

Personally i think it would look pretty sweet if you ran 2 side exhausts. If you were turbo you wouldnt even have to worry about the back pressure. Good luck on the exhaust and post pics when your done.

well, it'll be a slow work in progress because i'm sure it won't exactly be all that cheap, but yea i'll definitely put some pics up when i get this project started..
