Now in the U.S.
i know why my car runs the way it runs... me and a friend of mine which is also a family to the supramania community helped me out... and if you've have read my other post about my car hesitating then you'll understand what im talkin about... well we checked my spark plugs, still good. checked my wires, all good... check the map sensor, seems good... and works, but im still getting a 2jz map... fired it up runs fine at idle... then when we revv it up we see a leak on the turbo manifold... and it LEAKS really bad.... SO... my question is could it be that the reason why it runs the way it runs is because of that BIG LEAK on the turbo manifold???

i dont have a vid but ok on idle i thought its coming from the down pipe... but u see the black stain on the side of the valve cover and we just let is sit there for like 3 mins then revvd it up and you can see smoke just coming out in between the turbo and the head so im guessing the gasket on the manifold...

ok it wasnt it... i honestly dont know what to do??? it just feels like my car isnt getting boost... i just put a boost gauge on it and it reads 5 but when it hits 5 its like im redlining and it bounces up and down really fast when i hit 5... what is that???

yea im only getting code 31 and i know the 1j doesnt have a FREAKING MAF... so i could it be the MAP sensor.... also i have no leaks from the pipping at all... vac's ok... no leaks either....

yes code 31 on the 1J is the map sensor. yur map is either wired wrong or fucked.

i had a code 31 and my map sensor wire was cut. i stripped it and twisted the wires back together for a bandaid fix and the code 31 went away.

well will having the wrong map sensor trigger code 31 as well.... im running a 3sgte map sensor, and i checkd my wires there all connected... so i wonder if thats the case....

i would use a 1J map sensor instead of the 3s one.

We already covered this in the last thread, man. Grab yourself a 1J map and see if your problems are resolved.

I've never heard of anyone using a 3S MAP sensor in a JZA70...

i have to wait till friday when i get paid to buy it though.... its just a matter of finding one that is... the other guy sold his last 1jz map... so i just gota wait and see.. .hope if does fix my problem...

nope here in South carolina there all about hondas and 240's they have no idea what the heck a 1j engine is... they dont even know what engine is in the mk4's... theres like only two guys here that has a 1j swap and he went standalone on his car... told me he didnt have a map sensor.... so im pretty much S.O.L!!!!!

dude i have the same freakin problem, accept i already have the 2j map sensor. my shit at cold or hot, idles ruff and very low. seems like it misfiring and idle but runs fine when accelerating. checked most of the things that were listed from other threads. jus cant seem to find the problem.

well when i idle on mine its fine... acceleration is fine until 4k then it starts popping (misfiring) and i drove it around boost kicks in at 5 only then it starts to bounce up and down as if im redling boost... BUT AT 5 PSI'S yea right....

i've used a 3sgte map on my 1j, worked perfect. either your map is bad, or the wiring to the map is bad. or.....your ecu.

it's not hard to check, it's just 3 wires from the ecu to the map basically.

That's interesting. Never heard of anyone doing it.
