I have a low millage 1JZ with stock twins 3"y pipe and down pipe, Big Driftmotion IC, 2.5 Hard pipes, and a large K&N filter and intake, Walbro 255, and thats about it... Oh and it only hits 9-10 PSI:3d_frown:

I always change my oil and have been running Lucas... "it aint cheep:aigo:"
All fluids and spark are well maintained... I take Excellent care of this car, but recently my turbo's start getting loader at spool. I sound good, you just hear them spool up i would say scream but they are def. spooling up, i have had occasional white smoke dump out the tailpipe but thats only if i turn it off short after a long run, then turn it back on shortly after.

This all started "the spool noise" when i added a ram air scoop and hose from my fog vent to the intake filter, so i thought maybe since its getting cool air it just might like to spool loader or what????

Are my babies dieing???

If so whats the best cost-less way to go???

Thank you SO much!

I am hitting 15psi with just intake, downpipe, test pipe and exhaust.

BTW, welcome to the "I killed a set of ct12a turbos" club

Make sure that all connections to the plastic pieces are good, and that all clamps are nice and tight. If you can hear the turbos working hard, chances are that there is a leak somewhere. Might want to pressure test the IC as well, it might have gotten punctured.

If there is a boost leak then it wouldn't hold pressure... Right?
when i step on it it spools up quickly to 9 and holds... Or does that not matter?

I check all that could be a leak and dont see anything wrong... I did notice oil in my turbo pipes...

Mine smoked really bad out the back of the rear turbo and wasn't hitting for shit, as well as billowing white smoke out my exhaust when they blew. Car ran like shit.

Thats why i dont think mine are bad... Well With my mods are you going to hear spool... because thats all it sounds like is a nice spool, i personally think it sound bad ass:naughty:... I am hitting solid and consistent... But even then only 9 PSI:3d_frown:!!!
What the hell is wrong for a moded 1JZ to hit at 9 pounds????:1zhelp:

yeah lucas isnt needed and is probably more harm than good on your vehicle. you should be running fully synthetic oil with no extra additives needed, fully synthetic especially if youre not using a turbo timer to prevent oil coking.

start saving for a single setup :) makes life simple.

Ok... Next question...

What all does it take to go single???
(turbo, manifold, wastegate, down pipe) anything else, and do i have to wire or rout vacuum any differently???

turbo
manifold
wastegate
downpipe
oil feed and return 4an and 12an
block off the rear oil feed for the turbo
and just run a vac line from the wastegate to the rear of the intake manifold.
