If the plugs didn't work for you then all that's left is the KS. Maybe the o-ring, but probably the KS.

I was thinking it doesn't seat properly and over time wiggles its way loose. In mine I have to play with the plugs to get it to go away, just resetting the code always brings back a 52. Oh well, at least now I can go weeks without a 52 instead of hours.

tried 3 knock sensors and new orings :) maybe a 4rth try is a charm? lol i might stop by a junkyard for the hell of it.. they charge $1 for those things.

i just finished regrounding my entire car with 4guage to reduce electrical noise. my next thing im gonna try is putting a ferrite on the ground wire of the sheilding.

urs is a gte or a na-t? mines a na-t so i only have 1 knock sensor split into two wires. for the ecu

Easy fix...just buy the kit from SHAEFF, and no more code 52.

I installed his kit this weekend, rode her hard and not more code.

Now i could finally get me tune, setting up a date tomorrow:naughty::naughty:

I did what this man did. No problems and comes with a perfect complete write up

LOL this is ridiculous! Last summer I had the same issue and figgie even came over and helped rewire the sensors but resulted in no luck. After a few sleepless nights I was tinkering with the wires to see what the heck was going on and as i unplugged the rear knock sensor, half the sensor came with it lol.

Mines an original GTE. There were quite a few frayed wires, so the grounding may help weed out some of the noise.

I like the above post. Probably what's going to happen to mine as the rear is almost always the culprit when I have to unplug/plug to get the code to go away.

Just picked them up 10 minutes ago. I actually just re-upped my battery ground with 4 guage, but not the engine to chassis. I'll give it a shot viper, thanks!

yea i ran 4 guage from my battery to my block, battery to chasis. then 4guage from same spot on the block used previously to the intake manifold (like the above post says, most sensors are grounded to this). and another 4guage from head to firewall. and then a 8guage from chasis(same spot where the 4guage is coming from the battery) to ignitor(i beleive the ecu is grounded here as well)

If your auto i would do 4 guage from the trans to the chasis as well, but i cant see how it would make a difference in a manual trans

hopefully this helps you out as well.. it may be worth doing even if your KS work later.

Yeah, it's definatly a good idea to run bigger grounds. It'll probebly be a few days before I work on the car again, I did a leakdown test on it tonight, but I have a guy's 240 I'm working on also, and it's a paying job I need to finish.

So stay tuned, and thanks for the input!

I had to rewire my stepson's abortion, and I used audio coax to do it. Worked perfect! I definitely would not recommend using RG 58, or 6 cable.

I haven't had the time/cash to work on the car lately. I still have a braided PS hose I need to install to stop a leak.

I'll probably be upgrading the grounds (all of them) in a couple weeks though.

Still 52 free? If you are I might just do the grounds this weekend.

DAMN IT!!! I took the car out a few hours ago and when I got to the street and hit 2nd gear, it threw code 52.

But, I ran into a aquaintance soon after and he can hook me up with a computer next Friday for $150 that I can try before I buy.

So, I guess we'll see what happens in a week.:3d_frown:

I replaced my wife's ecu with mine and it didn't help anything. I still haven't tried the grounds and I haven't moved the knock sensor to where it is suppose to be. I've basically just parked her car until I muster up the "want to" to go out and work on it. I've had more important things to do here lately like..............twiddling my thumbs.
