The supra is not a cheap car thats all there is too it. It may be cheap to buy the actual car, wonder why that is. Because, alot of people like you can afford all the up keep and have to dump them!

If you want a cheap in the long run car go get a civic or something not a supra.

Also, since when is a 35$ rad hose or 10$ seal that big of a deal? I dont know many cars that will be cheaper for those types of parts. Maybe the true solution for you is :

Eh - the Supra's are a nice car to drive and own, but they DO have flaws. More than quite a few other cars - which is why they're cheap to buy. But, once you spend out a bit of money on repairing the stuff that commonly goes wrong - you're good for at least another 5 years before you have to spend out on something again.

I got my turbo for £1000 - but i've spent at least another £700 on buying parts and now i'm about to spend out another £313 on machine work for my engine rebuild. Once thats done - i only need to worry about getting the rear arches cleaned up.

Building these cars is half the fun!

Ya, but when someone is crying about having to buy a radiator hose something is not right. I dont know any car where you wont have to spend money on normal wear and tear parts.

LOL Oh believe me I understood what you said joe, but from a psychology stand point if he were going to give up he wouldnt have poseted this, he would simply buy a for sale sign and quit logging on to supramania. He basically just wanted to vent and hear some similar expiriences and move on and go back to saving to build his car, etc.

Not everyone can afford 1JZ swaps and built 7M's and huge turbo setups that cost more than youre car did right off. I think the guy was just bitching because after fixing a bunch of shit, he all of a sudden needs a bunch of hoses and misc small shit. It can be frustrating at times, you fix something only to have a bunch of little somethings go bad, and when your broke or on a low or fixed budget, it hurts more than if you just cashed ur 10k drug dealing check.

People love to bitch about nothing.
This kinda ranks up there with rich kids bitching about their parents ONLY buying them a $35,000 car...:3d_frown:
The stuff mentioned is all things that should have been changed when you got the car. I've had to get all the things you mentioned plus shocks, tires, and about $1500 of etc, before I owned it for even a few months.
I fixed them all early in the game and now the only problem I've really had for two years is the radiator needing burping every now and again. Supras are like having a quality relationship or building a custom PC: you get out what you put in.

Nah Im chilled out now, I just had a really bad day when I was typing that up.

I wasnt really bitching at the cost of the parts really, the fact that the asshole on the phone told me it was $25 all togetehr which also included the bolt he ordered wrong, well it started it. Then my buddy telling me looked like I was pouring out more oil smoke than usual, makes me wonder what else is going on in there.

Its all good though guys, Im back off of my little rant, Im about to have all of this taken care of, along with a nice little surprise once I get the rest of the $$ i need :)

Thanks for hearing me bitch guys! I figured it was here or rant off to my rooommate, which is never fun.
