Just guessing duct tape won't fix it.

This is bizarre, i replaced my top tank cause it got a hairline crack in it yesterday and just started to weep.It started to crack in the exact same place, the radiator shop said it's very common for the radiators to go on the upper tank due to being the first place the hot water hits and by the time its reached the bottom its cooler..cost me $200. and they flushed and cleaned it as well....bizarre

Oddly enough, it all started with a stuck throttle. My wife was driving to work, got off the highway, put in the clutch, 4.5k RPM instead of idle. I had her drive it the last five miles to work. She thinks she had it in third or fourth but I dunno - she said she was doing 30 without touching the gas pedal at 4500 RPM again.

Anyways it was starting to run hot when she got to work, shut it off and it blew up about 30 seconds later. Only thing that makes sense is that the cruise control stuck on since it always went back to 4500 RPM after shifting.

I've had two for almost ten years and never had anything similar happen - quite weird.

The few times I've seen that have been from combustion gases in the cooling system increasing pressure beyond the limits of the plastic. I have seen plenty of cracked plastic tanks like what Wiseco described, but the broken ones like yours always have the same result.

If you need a radiator, I'll have my stocker pulled here by this weekend...gonna start yanking my motor out today.

Thank you for the thought.

I'm going to buy an all-aluminum one; I was looking at 935motorsports' site and saw they have two that basically look the same and about same price, a Haste and a CSF? Price looked good, never heard of either though. I called them credit card in hand to ask what's a better stock replacement, left a message, no call-back. I'm hoping it's because it was New Year's Eve...
