I realize I don't know #### about turbos

Ok so I am finally at the point where I'm looking to buy a turbo and I've discovered that I am pretty damn illiterate. Hopefully you folks can help me out.

First, this is one a 2jzgte swap and I'm planning on using a drewgo t4 manifold. This car is not going to be a daily driver.

Second, right now I'm only looking to hit about 450-500 but I would like a turbo that I can push to say 600 at a later stage. From a previous thread it posted it seems like something along the lines of a 66 or 67mm turbo would do the job pretty nicely.

Third, my spending limit is about 1000 (can be a little bit over)

Now between all the different turbos out there I am getting a little bit overwhelmed. There are so many damn variables (ar and so on) and folks just keep throwing general sizes at me.

So my question is this: What EXACT turbo would you put in this car (must be t66 or larger) with the manifold i have in mind? I am talking down to the very last detail (manufacturer/model/trim/ar and so on).

67mm Compressor Q Turbine .81 a/r

Capable of ~700whp on full kill. Can make 500+ on pump. (Probably need 264s with it though)

At the moment I'm really leaning towards the pt67 with something around an 80 ar. I feel like a kid in a damn candy store every time I start seeing other turbo options. I'll take one of everything please. ha.

honestly what confuses me more than anything else is this:

with percision there is 300-1551, 400-1551, and so on... What the hell does that designation even mean? The garrett website was awesome about explaining their codes but percision sucks. Can somebody clear this up for me?

If its set up right, no.

A stock 1jz it would suck. Put in Cams, and a ecu (standalone or Blitz/Mines) and run it out to 8k then no. But then again stock cams are garbage on the 1jz anyways so they should be changed right after you put an exhaust on it!

It was at 10psi then i forgot to connect the vaccum line to the wastegate so it was shooting to 20psi at 4-4.5k RPM then i was hitting fuel cut lol.... I have the AEM set-up for over boost protection.. ( well SP did)

Just to update: Yesterday I bought the 6776RH (which is a 67mm t4 ball bearing turbo with a .81ar... p trim... h housing). I can't wait to get this car back in the road. It'll be a year it's been off come late april.
