yes, I took the bottom portion to the DMV, so hopefully we won't have to pay the fines... Maybe I'll just wait until it goes to auction, and buy it back?

I installed the Fan Clutch a little while ago, and it sounds a bit louder, but now the car doesn;t have as much power ...oh well, it's a good compromise i guess...

Good job... If you sent it in then get on the phone with DOL and get proof they recieved it. You will not be held liable for the charges if you sent it in on time.

It should get louder when the thermostat dumps hot water into the radiator, This heat engages the clutch to lock it up and pull air through the radiator. Once the temps come down it should start to slip again and quiet down..

You could always remove the thermo fan and the shroud and replace them with an electric fan/shroud setup to free some power..

well....., I have been driving the snot out of this car today all but trying to make it over heat or do something ignorant, I have to give her two thumbs up. Don't tell my old lady it's fixed or she'll be wanting me to sell it. Or even worse, she'll be wanting to drive it.
