Hey guys, I need some new tires.

I seriously need new tires.

I was going to try to wait it out until my next paycheck (and Christmas), but the driver's side rear has developed a leak in the side wall. ...I don't think I could wait it out that long.

Basically, I'm looking for some recommendations for good tire shops out around here. "Big O Tires" is just a few blocks from my house, but I've heard a lot of unpleasant things about them.

What would you recommend?

Discounttiredirect.com offers free shipping on tires from their website. I just bought 4 Falken 452's 245/275 combo for just a hair under $500 w/ 4 valve stems.

If you can't find anything locally, I'd try them.

usually the way i shop for tires is check the prices online on tires i want ... compare the prices between tires.com (discount) and tirerack.com most of the time the tirerack price are cheaper. Then i would call the local branch of discount tires and ask them to price match the tire rack price. Works well 98% of the time > p

is that wear on the side of the tire? or a pic of the size? the side looks tore up?

That would be wear on the side of the tire due to sun rot- which is a problem that happens out here in California if you let your car sit too long. I bought this from someone a year ago that let it sit for a year (besides driving it every now and then), and the guy he bought it from had left it sitting for longer.

If you think the tire's bad, you should see my interior. :nono:

hey there, i'm from SF too:icon_bigg
don't buy around here, stuff is just way too expensive. the web is the way to go, especially if you can get free shipping. def check out the sites listed by the others here, and you may also want to check out edgeracing.com, i've been pleased with their services in the past, although i don't think their shipping is free. and while you're waiting on your tires you should throw a can of fix-a-flat in that bad tire if you have to use your car regularly, just go to kragen. good luck

can't beat tire rack, then take them to Wally world and have them put on with lifetime balance and road hazard

lots of places will match tire rack prices. I bring the printout to them and tell them to match the COST of the tires. That way they pay the shipping (if their is any) and i get them quickly.
