Im putting in a new OEM gasket with arp studs. I really want good prep work so i dont do this again. I resurfased the block with brillow type wheel and was still left with pits with gasket material

Is this Good enough for a composite gasket or a sign of another bhg. I really dont want to mill the block unless i have too, there is no good shops around where i live.
thanx in advance!!

Ive had a similiar looking block on my N/A that held up with a composite gasket.

Some people use the brake squeal silicone on each side of the gasket to help, Ive never tried it personally but hear it works.

If you really want it to last get a MHG. I would say find the nearest good shop even if you have to load the engine up and drive it and go get the head and blocked prepped for a MHG.

you have to pay to play.

Honestly, if u wanted to go with a MHG, i would get the head shaved and the block resurfaced, do it Correctly so u dont bitch about how shitty 7m's are and how they blow HG's like i get the squirts.

You didn't mention if you're turbo or not. If your engine is just NA I would say that looks pretty fine for a composite hg. I'd probbaly spray the gasket sealer on it just for kicks, but other than that if it was my engine I'd slap a stocker on there and drift away.

my head gasket went twice and Never got the block milled. 7 months later and lots of boost no problems

Yes it a turbo, and its going ionto a toyota 4runner. I plan on running just below fuel cut, whatever hp that is but im going to be pushing 35 in tires and riverbed and dune thrashing so the motor is going to work hard!. I ran a N/A
7m but i spun a rod bearing. I love the 7m's so now im going turbo. Thank for the input. I may have to go 100mi just to find a reputable machine shop. I hear a lot about lapping, whats that? is that an option?

heres my truck, please dont disown me:icon_bigg notice the heat exchanger above the winch for my air/water intercooler

Oh man thats sweet!

But it would be even sweeter if you got it to work with 4wd!!

DO IT!!!!

of course its going to be 4WD. Im taking the r154 imput shaft and all the gears and guts and putting it into the R150 mated to dual gear driven
t-cases. Sounds confusing but it wroks
