Okay.
I need to quit procrastinating and replace my head gasket.
I was going to go on tour for a couple days with a band to Cali and take pictures and do merch for them, butttttt, their van wouldn't start. So no tour.
Well, after a long night tonight, I head home and my car starts to overheat.
I let her cool down, and see if she can go again, nopeeeeeeee.
So I pull over, let her cool down, take out the thermostat, and go again.
Wellllll silly me, being tired, forget you need that in there to complete the seal on the thermostat housing. Sooooo coolant steam comes pouring out.
I figure I'll be smart and jimmy rig the thermo so it stays open.
That doesn't work either.
So I wait for my mom to come, then sleep in the car till the tow truck comes, and uhhhhh about 3 hours later, I'm home.
Anyways.
Since I'm not going to Cali now, I have a couple days off and a chance to replace my headgasket. Not only that, but now I can replace the radiator I got yesterday, adjust my clutch pedal and figure out what the hell is going on with my electrical now. (Dash isn't lighting up, and my dome lights are randomly coming on.... oh and now my turn signals don't blink.)
SO!
My car is at my house, but I don't have much in the way of tools, or knowledge. I'm going to be ordering some ARP head studs today, but I've heard they're a bitch to get in with the engine in? Anyways, I've got a OEM gasket. Let me know what else I will be needing to replace so I can order it ASAP!
If you've got some time and tools and you're willing to give me a hand, I can't offer much more than some pizza and pop probably, but I'd really appreciate the help.
I'm going to bed now!
