Take your car to a radiator shop and have them tank the radiator. It's pretty cheap and the radiator will be brand new when they're done. Gunk and deposits can build up over time, especially if you're not using distilled water, that are insoluble in water. The only way to get them out is with a chemical. If that doesn't work I'd say either water pump or oil pump. Insufficient lubrication leads to excessively high engine temps and excessively short engine life. Ask me how I know. I'm going to assume you've checked your radiator cap.

Get a compression check, you have more than likely blown head gasket between cylinders. That can cause temp rise when throttling and temp lowering when backing off and cause the absence of water & oil mixing.

So stop pussyfooting about and get a compression check.
Don't bother with replacing your water pump. It's fine.
Only bother with your radiator if it is overheating when pulling up to a stop or traffic from being on highway etc.

Have fun :)

Temp rising, then going back down sounds like air in the system. How about the t-stat?

Getting the radiator rodded isn't as good as getting a new radiator.

Are you SURE the fan clutch is good? I went through everything in my cooling system and the damn thing STILL ran hot. It's perfect now.

Give us picks of your radiator, radiator cap, coolant overflow bottle (getting a shot inside is a bit hard, but try), fan shroud, ect...

I read this whole thread and finally someone says it! BHG doesn't always mean water and oil will be mixing!

I do got oil coming out of the pan i think. But i got oil pressure. My oil pan is pretty much covered in in oil.

actual oil or grease?

put a piece of card board under your oil pan and that will tell you if its leaking or not

Well, if it has done it one time, then it might be doing it again. It might not be leaking from your oil pan and may be running off from the top of the engine somewhere.

No, but it can leak oil pretty good.

I told you that you are probably better off pulling the engine and replacing a bunch of shit like old hoses, gaskets ect. You may want to rush to enjoy the car but your just going to end up spending more time not enjoying the car in the long run.

... true, i m going to have everything put back together and get my self a compression test done.

I agree.

Also a great time to do bearings too. :icon_bigg

Over heating is either going to be caused by excessive heat introduction (i.e. What Suprra girl said or bhg from a cylinder to a water jacket) or lack of adaquate heat reduction (i.e. bad radiator, water restriction, lack of airflow).

I dont recall seeing the answer to this in your other threads. How exactly did you rule out BHG? Block test?

Ignore the exhuast leak for now, its not significant in the overheat issue. A slight oil leak will not "cause" overheating, but lack of oil certainly could. Make sure you are at or above recommended levels at all times. The oil leak is something that can also be set aside for now.

Test and/or change your radiator cap. Loss of pressure can lead to a boil over. Besides its cheap and should be done anyway as part of regular maintenance.

The smell of coolant means its being leaked or vaporized somewhere. After you top off the system, and drive the car for a period of time, is there coolant loss from the overflow tank OR low level in the radiator. Just checking the overflow isnt enough if the overflow system isnt working (i.e. bad cap, pressure loss elsewhere) But DONT check the radiator level hot. Fill it cold, go drive, let it heat up and cool off a couple times, then while its cold again check the level in the radiator.

Do you have the waterfall sound behind the dash in the morning when you first start it? If so you have air bubbles in your system and need to burp it. Use search for info on how to do that.

Im personally betting on a slight BHG condition to be the eventual answer.
