I think that we need to start a fresh one that doesn't link to SF.

Its not THAT big, its a 377ci brodix aluminum block and head.

ahh, the last time i checked the thread, everyone was still guessing the size of the motor, and he wouldnt say what it was. that turbo can still blow down a small skyscraper tho

the stock twins spool up awesomely fast, I love my 1jz...i just wish it kept boosting (stock setup) past 11psi after about 5k..it feels like it needs more power on the upper end up to 7k.

besides that, which a piggyback would fix, i like my 1jz parallel setup better than a 2jz sequential!

really a stock 2jz is amazing, i can't believe how smooth my aristo is.... it's almost like it's not even on. aside form the old spark plug stumble i have every now and then ;)

and the power of the stock seq twins... I love it... for a DD it's amazing on the highway, just touch the gas and there is boost and it doesn't need to downshift to overtake.... feels like a diesle almost for the instant boost reponse.

in my opinion, the price for 2j's is way to high for what it is: basically a 1j with an extra .5L of displacement over 6 cylinders, and a slightly different turbo setup.

for the 1j, that .5L difference means a shorter throw=higher 'safe' redline

and the parallel turbo's are awesome! just needs more than 11psi of boost i think.

but i would never turn down a 2jz if i came across a great deal!!

in the real world tho, i'd rather spend a reasonable amount of money on a 1j instead of double that on the 2j!

Good to know about the aristo twins. Im thinking of putting them on my 1j because:
a) im cheap and can get a set for like 200 shipped
b) I dont want assloads of power, 85% duty on 440s should hold me over
c) I have never heard of someone doing this and want to pioneer something for the MKIII
