Since my blower never worked, and I accidentally broke the heater core a few months back, I decided to just rip it all out and leave it out.

CONTRARY to popular belief :sarcasm: I can make it through winters without it. I did it in New York with my white '83, and Washington is a lot easier to deal with, despite the humidity. Defrost for me = cracking the windows :)

I never realized how heavy the stuff was until I started pulling it out. Stuffed it all into a box and weighed

I haven't weighed everything I've removed, but according to Deans website my car has lost around 81lbs (not including swapping from auto to manual)

no a/c (-40)
no heat (-23)
no power steering (-11)
no cruise control (-2)
no washer fluid tank (-5ish with fluid)
no EGR system (-7)

She should weigh around 2880 now. I will remove the backseat for races, which is another 40ish lbs. I'll find out an accurate weight someday :)

I am so happy with my Inferior" mk2 (aka CELICA)

heh

Damn, I thought you had ideas for a new exercise program.

The only upside to keeping the heater is its a good way to slightly cool the engine off, does wonders in my friends 87 Monte SS.

And that mkII is looking good.

No heater core, no heat?

I couldn't even begin to imagine having a car like that for winter here... dress for -40 degree weather just for a drive to Seven-11 to go to get a slurpee, wtf!

Mines down to 2820lbs with a full tank of fuel & all seats still in, spare tyre, heater & washer bottle

I have no aircon, power steering, stereo, or sound insulation though:naughty:

Last time it weighed in at 1382kg at the Drags with me in it. I was atleast 100kg at the time.

Best of luck getting some more weight out of it.

Uh yeah, probably wouldn't have ripped out the heat if I was in Canada. Washington realy doesn't get horribly cold. I don't think it really gets below 30 much.

do you have mkiii seats in there?
You've never been in a MKII have you ;)

Those are actually MKII Supra/ Celica GTS seats. They are VERY comfortable seats. You should sit in a MKII some day just to feel their seats :)

The give-away is the plastic sides.

Tanya, is that just the picture, or did someone key your car?

Someone keyed the car before I got it :(

Everyone tells me how great my car looks on forums, but I manage to hide a lot of flaws in the angles of my pics. The car has numerous small dings and that horrible key mark.

She needs bodywork and a repaint someday, probably next year if I am lucky.

btw, the 1985 Supra brochure lists the Supras curb weight as:
2976 for Manual and 3016 for auto.
