don't u have an old thread about talking about importing a car? why not ASK in that one instead of juts opening another thread asking about it. Your best bet is to find an importing place in your state. They'll most likely have the best details and info to let you know what you need to do.
Your in cali....
Find one.
Buy it.
Apply to have it permitted into the country, or find an importer and pay them to go through all that damn paperwork.
Wait....
Find a shipping company.
Get it locked away and illigalized until you can install a functioning EGR system on it so that it will pass smog regulations. (allot more strict in your state).
Pass the rigourous inspection process.
and assuming you dont hit any huge speed bumps in that process thats the jist of it.
i left out the details because i havent done it first hand but maybe it will give you an idea. your best bet for info is to call your DMV and sit down w/ someone that can take you through all of the laws/restrictions involved.
Talk to the guys that do this for a living, not forums. Call your DMV, look up importers and talk to them directly.
