I just bought the coolest thing EVAR!

A GRiD GridCase III!

These were used in the 80's on the space shuttle and other military thingies.

Specs:

80C86 CPU (8Mhz)
1mb RAM
720k FDD
640x200 CGA Plasma

Runs DOS 3.3

This is SO full of win

I know i know, very retro.....the reason for buying it? ITS JUST COOLNESS IN A BOX!

And they used 4 of these in Aliens for the sentry gun scenes...

And PB100 - very cool. Sony with an apple badge on it

Not going to rip anything out of it - going to leave it as is. Its in good condition, boots DOS 3.3, goign to have a go to see if i can get Windows 1.01 to run on it

10 pounds? I'd buy one for that much, if I was sure I'd get some use/fun out of it.
I probably would try to gut it and throw something fun and small in the chassis to make it more "fun".

10 pounds is now like what, $2600 american? For $2600 I could buy alot more coolness than that brick.

My brother in law has the original mac, has all the guys names engraved inside the case(or modeled in but looks engraved?). It stiill works but hes missing the cable for the keyboard, it got trashed because someone thought it was an old telephone cable!
