Update: The House deal fell through at the last minute thanks to the agents screwing up the paperwork and the landlord pulling out. I lost the deposit in the process and thats REALLY pissed me off, but i've found another place. Unfortunately, no garage, driveway and very little parking unless its on the main road, where it would be a prime target for chavs and thieves.

Thing is - although i could sue the agents for the money, the cost of raising a lawsuit against them would cost more than i'd get back, as i wouldn't be entitled to compensation. Although they're supposed to give the deposit back, theres no legal requirement for them to do so, so i have no kind of recourse. Oh well, live and learn - never trust balding indian man in a suit
