We use it to haul engines and transmissions. Imagine this truck with a fully charged air suspension, tailgate dragging the ground, and not being able to steer because there's so little contact with the road. :D

It redlines way low, but the thing has torque, in any gear. cept first :p
The gear shift is mis-named. It's actually called the "noise adjustment lever", because no matter what gear you're in, it doesn't change how fast/slow the motor pulls, it just changes the amount of noise the 22R makes.


And yeah, they make no power above like 3500. haha.

My buddy had an 86 iirc pickup back in high school, and one day we were looking for a vac leak when we noticed something on the TB. The spot where the throttle lever swings and hits on the TB at WOT was groved in at least a mm or so. lol
We just pointed and laughed, nothing else needed to be said. It's a great truck though.
I almost bought a 87 2dr 4runner with a 22RE but it was automatic... It was a trade in at work so I couldve got one hell of a deal.
