And then depression sets in....
On my way home from work, BANG!
As they say, the rest is history.
Left rear quarter panel is buckled, bumper cover is hosed, sheetmetal under the driver taillight is pushed in. I didn't try to open the hatch, just incase I can't get it closed again.
Once again, I'm at the mercy of an insurance company, but I won't go down with out a fight.

damn man, and i recall you just got this car too after your mk2, and it was super clean...
Hopefully it works out for you.

Yup, I have the MKIII less than a year. When I got it, it had 115K miles on it, now about 121K. I put alot of work into it, I just hope I don't get a raw deal from his insurance. I might need to get on the 5M rebuild for my MKII.

Have you talked to the other insurance company yet? How about your own? (I'm guessing you only have Liability insurance? Or if you have Collision, are you going to report it to your company?)

Also are you injured? I would not tell anyone yes or no at this point. (I do this for a living, so you can use your "injury" to your advantage with his insurance company, trust me.)

If your sore, and the other guy has insurance, or you have med pay, or PIP, they should pay for the Dr. visit, and any meds you might get.

Same goes for physical therapy, or other treatment you might need. (I'm guessing your probably fine however, the Supra seats are very good at limiting neck and back injury for most read end accidents, as are any good bucket seat.)

Pull some comparable prices from around your area off autotrader.com and other places like Edmonds.com Stay away from KBB/Kelly Blue Book, nobody uses those figures for the most part, as they are not accurate to what the vehicle is worth, but what it might COST you to replace. (There is a difference.)

If you have any questions, IM me.

Good luck.

Damn. This is EXACTLY why, when I am forced to brake hard my first reaction is to look in the rear view mirror to see if I'm about to get creamed by some asshole not paying attention...

It's sad, really.

Liability only, unfortunately. I haven't talked to either insurance company yet.
No injuries, luckily.
I already started pulling ads and checking prices. Thanks for the tip.
I'll be intouch if I have any questions, thanks Adjuster.

Sorry to hear that, really sorry... I try to look in the rear view mirror as well. Many times I've actually got out of the lane I was in because I was afraid the idiot behind me in a beat up car wouldn't be able to stop.

I believe in PA, your insurance is responsible for 20% of the cost. The rest is covered by the other person's insurance.

Even if you don't feel anything right now, I would still get checked if I were you.

Good luck!

Having liability insurance does cover some kind of damage to the car? For

example, having some kind of "standard" coverage or is it basically stating that

you have an insurance company with little or no coverage. Because I personally was thinking of getting liability.

Anyways, good luck with your car and insurance.
