My grandfather had the same thing tattooed on his right side of the ribcage, on the outside(facing arm)
It means something to me. He would never let me see his tattoos untill one day when I was 9 or 10 or so, and I drew all of them I could. He wouldn't let me know what any of them ment to him. But this one is a reminder, and a good luck symbol.
