FREE JDM stuffs for me!!!

i was looking for a spare heater hose in one of my many bins of mk3 parts. this one was mostly 1j stuff though. the heater hose in my car has 3 tiny holes where coolant weeps from. its slow since there are green "boogers" caked around the holes. i guess 1.3bar caps can do that to old hoses? so i found a pair of JDM trim pieces but one marker was busted.. Dang, right?

so i went out to the back shed to see if i could find a heater hose back there, and a oil pressure sending unit. i found a hose, but it was in the bottom of a bin, in a pool of oil. that one is no good. no luck on the sending unit. but i did find ANOTHER pair of jdm trim pieces in a 7m oil pan. again, One marker was busted... Dang, Right?

well, i grab them anyways cuz maybe there was a chance that i could make one good pair out of the 2 sets. i bring them to the to the garage and compare them. YESS, a matching set!!!!! WOOOoooo. Free JDM bubbles, sitting in my many parts for Years now.

they were scuffed from loading and unloading the clips in the containers, but i just sanded out the gouges w/ 400, then 800, then 1000, then the red turtle wax compound, then PlastiX polish. they are like brand new now!!! and just in time for the Tampa Supra meet.

If I got them for free... yeah I'd use em...

but I think they looks like little wings on the front, so I'm not a fan of em personally...

I never cared for them much either. :dunno:

Finding stuff you forgot about is always cool. I always like it when I find cash in my pockets after doing laundry. :biglaugh:

lol yeah... thats exactly how it is. i dont have positive or negative feelings towards them either way. but, i have them, might as well use them. plus, might earn me points in the "wow" factor with any other mk3 people checking out my car.. especially when i go to sell it.

i dont despise them enough to avoid putting them in, so they are in. now all i have to do is get the jdm rear trim pieces to delete the rear corner markers. i think the cars look clean like that.

I have to agree with others in that I dont like them enough to pay for them. If I were to find a set in a spare parts bin that would be a good score.

these werent sitting in oil, just the spare heater hose i had.

do you mean the dark part in the one on the right? if thats what you mean, its just a shadow from the open bulb socket. one had some mildew remnants in it but the resolution of my phone isnt enough to pick up on it.

i just happened to aquire these in the various 1jz swaps ive done. i just scavenged some parts off the clips before scrapping the clips. i forgot that i had more than one set of trim pieces. :)

Damn right.

JDM mouldings > bubble barkers

Nice Score! On a similar topic, I know that clear rear side markers are made for our cars, do they make clear ones for the front side markers? Not the clear corners that wrap around the front, but the side markers in the trim pieces. If they do, anywhere I can pick some up? Ok, back to our regularly scheduled topic....

i dunno...

maybe justin is right. all side markers or no side markers... not half and half. ive seen MKIV's with no side markers, like a 98 front bumper and rear add-ons that cover up the rear corners.

i thought i saw clear side markers before but i never paid attn to them so i dont remember where they were.
