Since last December, I've been working on two cars and the last few months I've dedicated most of my time to this one. My 90 (originally N/A) Turbo. The interior, stereo and of course the engine were first priorities. Now for the body. I've been driving it around for a couple of months looking like a ghetto cruiser and can't stand it anymore. Just a couple final touches tomorrow night and Thursday she goes in for her makeover. I should have it back sometime next week.

Just a quick poll....
The original color is Toyota 206 (Black Ruby Pearl). I still haven't decided if I would rather have Toyota 202 (Black Onyx) or stick with the 206. I'm not a big fan of the metallics and micas (such as Toyota 204-Black Mica) so I was wondering what you guys think. The Black Ruby Pearl has a vey subtle sparkle to it. Anyway, let's see what the masses say !!!

The final determination will be broadcast in next weeks thread when I get her back and re-assembled.

As of today....

Chris : It's about freaking time : Your car looked like a Cheetah prowling the streets lol...which I don't think is a bad thing...?..
I can't wait to see the car finally done. You know as for the color, I would choose the 202 Black as I have owned two with that color and absolutely love it.
The 202 is a single stage paint which in MY opinion is better / easier to maintain and over the years, you won't have to worry about any clear coat stripping off etc.
It looks a lot blacker as well. :)
Whatever you choose, I'm sure it will turn out great.

You have seen both my cars and you can see how the paint has stood up to the elements and still shines like crazyy.

Moe.

I am leaning towards the 202 since I am doing it single stage. I decided on that due to the cost and the fear factor. Clear coat gets too messed up too fast and is too hard to maintain, not that black cars aren't tough enough already to keep clean. But we'll see. I have two days to make my decision.

Yup single stage is cool. Though I only had it for a month.. Almost time to wax it... I want to see your beast painted!

Yah, once it's painted, the only thing left on my list of things to do is figure out how to tune the MAFT-Pro so I can drive it:biglaugh:

yea very long time...........

sanding wasn't the easiest thing to do and it takes forever
Yup, sanding sucks ass. I originally just wanted to take off just the peeling clearcoat on the hood and roof but things just kept getting further and further, then the small dings and the dent in the ass end and walla....I ended up sanding the entire car.

If you ever get rims, let the rims dictate what color your car is. I'm looking into some bbs rsII colored diamond black right now, but it won't be until i get my alarm/shaved door handle projects done. I'm happy for you, and anxious to see the outcome

I loved the pencil circles on the car when you needed to fill!!!!!!:biglaugh:

Looks like you did a great job. I personally would go back to the original color. Lots nicer when you open the hood and doors.

GOOD LUCK POST UP PICTURES WHEN ITS DONE!!!!
