i overtightened the big bolt that holds the oil filter housing and i made a crack in the block where the bolt goes...is there nething i can do to make it run correctly or am i just fuckkkd
There is a type of caulk that you could fill the hole with then drill and retap the hole. The caulk will remain in the crack and the tap will remove it from the threads. I cannot remember what it was called. But we used it many times to repair big scratches in hyd. clylinders on heavy equipment at work. I think it had titanium in it. Just wish I could remember the name right now. Anyway I have used for that purpose before with ok results.
The bolt should have snapped, if the block cracked then the block had damage before. The block is cast iron and will not crack due to a bolt. I'm also wondering that if you cracked the block while bolting on the filtermount, WTF happened to the filtermount ? If nothing happened to it then you've either use the wrong bolt/ a too long bolt or you're telling liessssss
