OK I bought a lil Honda Prelude so I can afford to drive to work and back. The car is lowered, has body kit, carbon fiber hood, wheels, and new stage II clutch. The engine is freshly built, and has been bored to a 2.2L. My question is, will the bigger cylinders make it get better or worse milage. I have had two people tell me two different things. I am hoping for about 30 MPG outta this lil bugger, but its been modified. Has a header also, and straight exhaust.
OKAY Pics are finally up!!

Find your MPG:

Don't fill tank until it is almost empty.
Record how many gallons you pump in.
Reset trip odometer.
Drive car until almost empty again.
This should give you a good estimate of you MPG.

Only variances I can see are if you drive like an a-hole, or if you take different routes to wherever you go everyday [work at different locations with higher speeds, more stop-n-go traffic, lights, etc.].

Also, make sure the thing has a tune-up and is tuned for the bore increase.

I have no idea if it is tuned for the bore increase. I know that the engine light comes on as I drive it, and goes back off once it is at idle. The guy says it does that because the computer is confused by the modifications to the car. It runs good though...I gotta get use to the clutch on it ...it sure grabs! It went from a 2.0 to a 2.2, so thats only like .20 over right? I need to raise the car up a few inches also...I will post some pics of it when I get a chance. Everyone I showed it to says I stole it for the price I bought it for. If it doesnt get alot better milage than my wife is going to kill me...thats the whole reason I bought another car..LOL :sarcasm:

I don't think boring it .020 will make it a 2.2 Aaron, but as usual, I could be wrong. I dont know what kind of gas mileage you'll get, but as the drunk doctor mentioned, it will be easy to find out. Good luck, I got a feeling your wife is going to be pissed...............:biglaugh:

Don't see why you would buy one with a body kit, cf hood and STRAIGHT EXHAUST as a daily in the first place. I used to have a prelude and got 23-26mpg, it was an H22 though so it was more performance oriented than whatever 2.0 you have in there.

Preludes arent the best cars for fuel economy. What year is this? My friend had a 90 with an exhaust and intake. He got 400km a tank. Which is what i get in my supra..

the bodykit will make it more aerodynamic and the cf hood will make it lighter. you'll get better gas mileage because of those modifications.

To make it much easier:

Fill up at the pump until the nozzle clicks. Do not top off.
Reset trip odometer.
Drive.
Go back to gas station.
Fill until it clicks. Do not top off.
Divide trip miles by gallons.

Much more accurate than guessing and driving until the gauge is around the same place.

.20 over will NOT give you .2 liters in displacement.

for 92 ludes and up if it has the vtec cersion (h22) its a 2.2 .probably not the best mileage.if it has an f22 its a 2.2. agian but better mpg.its the same motor my accord had and i was getting close to 28 mpg.they also came with a 2.3 that got decenmt mpg to.look at the code stamp on the block (close to the front motor mount, right where the block meets the tranny) and tell us
