Im lookin at a Hyundai Tiburon as a DD. Its a 4 cyl. 2.0L engine. 5 speed. Anyone know if they are good reliable cars? This one is a 2001 with 37k miles. I test drove it today and it seemed really nice. Good smooth ride etc..

I actually wanted a Lancer at first. I wanted the Ralliart. But i dont kno. I personally dont care what car i get now cuz i havent had a car for about a 2 months now. I need something to get me from A to B. Im not going to drive it hard. I already have my toy. I just want it to be new, low mileage, 5 speed, and not a civic or neon. Anything else is fine.

JK thats cool.

I've heard the same about Tiburon's=bad daily drivers
Theyre not reliable and I hate worrying if my DD is gonna crap out on me.

A friend of mine had one for a few months...she drives a Mazda3 now

you can get a baseline mazda3 for like 17-18k NEW from the dealer. Power nothing but it has AC.

tiburon's are heavy and not worth the money. Get a toyota :)

Maxima's are AWESOME daily drivers! My parents have one, as well as my sister, and they have had to do NOTHING to it. My dad has like the smae one, he put in a 50 buck short throw shifter, and an intake and its a great daily driver!

go for it!

Next to Toyota you can't go wrong with Nissan, Theyre so reliable and a great car. I drove a 2000 Maxima at my work the other day and it drove very smooth. I was suprised, not many cars I can get in and immediatly feel so comfortable driving. I really could enjoy that car as a DD

My friend had a 98 Nissan Maxima, with a manual transmission. You should have seen the look on my face when we raced and he was keeping up with me. My car was stock, but the maxima impressed me none the less. It is a very quick car with a manual transmission, the automatics are fare more gutless.

I've got a good friend with a 94 Maxima, before that, it was a 96, his mom currently drives an 03. They are ALL great cars. For a daily driver, it would be a WONDERFUL car. Go for the Maxima.

As for the Hyundai's...I better not be hearing anybody dissing on Korean-made vehicles. :madfawk: Otherwise I'm going to have to pull some Tae Kwon-Do on your white butts. :yelrotflm
