I've recently come into a brand new holset hx55 and was wondering if it would be overkill on a rebuilt 2jz fully studded? What would I see full spool by? Any info and opinions help!

No the 55 is plenty for 850hp or so. Spool depends on a lot of factors, but a big one is what housing the 55 has on her.

get a custom back housing made for it

this is my hx40 with a garret 84 t4 back..VV

How would I go about having a back half custom made? Who would I have to send the stuff to?

Also any more opinions? The back half that's on the turbo now is a 25cm

25cm is like 1.9 something.. my turbo came with a 16cm which is like 1.05... mine was done by turbo lab. you can youtube to see what a 17cm hx52 is like.

would a quick spool valve be any good for a t6?

The turbine housings arnt easy to find for this thing..

I used a garret housing...I saw a dsm guy modify a housing and weld a vband to it to use on his hx52. I probably researched holsets for about 6 months now...because theyre not so main stream over here you have to dig for the info...but its there. like if you google hx55 2jz youll see guys over seas making 1000hp... not sure what housing theyre running but its proof for yourself that its doable. your best bet is custom.
