Huge Exhaust Leak From The Headers back

Today when i was pulling out of class before my long trek home, i started accelerating.Soon as i hit 5k or so in 2nd the car got loud, i mean really loud. So i go a mile up the road and pull into a gastation and laydown and take a peek.I looked at the back first everything was ok, then upon closer inspection of the front i notice where the header goes into the exhaust system, before the cat was broke.

I went to a reputable shop, but they were done for buisness for today so im going back tomorrow to have them check it out. From the untrained eye perspective it would seem as if rust has taken its toll on the lower part of the header all the way to the cat.

Worst case scenario is they could fix it but due to rust it could break again. So i went and priced a pacesetter from 935 and the price seems resonable.

Also a few drivers are pissed right now because me going WOT right next to them. You would be suprised how fast cars move out the way when they hear how loud the car is.

the headers are cast iron on our cars and surface rust is normal. if you see holes id start to worry. more than likely theres a gasket that is bad or not tightened enough.

to check: with the car COLD start it and work your way with your hand back about 2-3 inches away from the exhaust and feel around for moving air. start at the front and work back.

Its dark out now, im going to check it first thing in the morning before i got to the muffler shop. From what i seen earlier it was a clean break. It didnt look like the flange survived.

Don't buy a pacesetter! They're junk.

Thats the worse come to worse scenario, but thats also me tryin to squeeze a few more ponies out as well. Im sure i could go to the junkyard and get a mani from there.

Also after riding a little bit like this my mission is clear, when i go turbo an open dp or cut is a must:naughty:

This just happened to my car yesterday heading to see that movie forbidden kingdom which by the way is like the coolest movie in the world! My friends were in the car and it was their first time in it so i decided to goose it a bit and all of a sudden it was so loud i couldnt even hear the radio and it was like on max. but it like scared the sh!t outta me i thought that i blew like the muffler straight off or something but it was in the same spot as yours... it sounds bad ass though if u ask me but the fumes from mine are killing me when i drive the car. it sounds louder than my friends car and he has an exhaust leak in his v8 caprice to... but ne ways how much did it end up costing you to weld it back together?
