how many horses can you actually pick up from not running ps and ac com. i mean is it really worth it i would think not i can deal without ac but man i love my ps..:love:

Some people like p/s, some people don't. I'd probably kill myself if I had to steer my tank of a Mkiii in parking lots without p/s, but when you're moving faster than 1/2 a MPH, it's not that big of a deal. As for a/c, if you have a targa you'll probably never need it.:naughty:

Powersteering will sap power (when in use), but the A/C is just free wheeling when it's off as the clutch is disconnected.
Not worth it, and on a turbo car it's easy to make power...

I removed my A/c. I didn't care too much about the power gain more for the fact that without it it alows a major increase in airflow to the rad/engine
I think the reason you get a power gain by removing A/C and P/S is because there's less weight on the crank pulley (this concept is similar to a lightweight flywheel or lightweight d/s. It's not a gain of power, but it's just easier to move and therefore you free up some power), but it's probably so small it's not worth it. On the other hand, the whole A/C system weighs around 30+ lbs, possibly a little under 50 lbs. The P/S system weighs around 15-18 lbs. This stuff is probably important if you're N/A (cause as an N/A guy, I'll admit I want to get any free speed I can get), but on a turbo, it's way easier to make your car faster that you really shouldn't remove these. Another reason to remove them is if it's a strict track car, where removing weight is important (especially weight in the front).
IM with AF on this one. The only reason why i removed my A/C was because of my FFIM I had to move the alternator down. But I would NEVER remove my powersteering...deff not worth it...you wont really notice the power gain and you would only save a couple pounds...it would be easier to just not eat fast food for a week lolAF1JZ;958464 said:

I have heard some people say they had bad experiences with them, but I've never regretted it or had a problem. Great mod if you ask me. I'm of the opinion that the stock fan sucks up more power than the p/s.

how long have you lived in Stockton?
It sucks there in the summer and when its 100 degrees outside and you are in stop and go traffic on the 5 or the 99 your sack will stick to you leg like you would not believe. its not comfortable AT ALL.

I would sell the supra if it didnt have A/C....seriously. I will never drive another car without cold A/C, especially here in Florida. I had my ps down for awhile and I hated driving without it. Keep them both if you drive your car much. If it's a drag or track car, then ditch it for the weight.

Just didn't notice them there or off, so they're all off.
Probably the biggest benefit to removing them is arm space for working on the car... the more parts I can stand to lose, the freer positioning I have to get to tough to reach places.
