those of you who are using the gasket... and if it has any rubber left on it! lol
i used RTV... and my car does NOT smoke like that. LOL

i would have already pulled my head if it did that... i couldnt bare to look at that in my rear-view mirror...

basically. light smoke on start up, and smokes under boost. turbo?

Have you visually checked the valve seals? It would be easy to get one or two on crooked. If you're only getting oil in two cylinders, it would seem the turbo would be an unlikely suspect. How many miles do you have on the motor?
What oil did you use to break it in?

im not going to pull my timing belt and all of that stuff until i know its those.
i think i have oil in 5 out of the 6... but im still breaking in the motor, so im going to pull the plugs tomorrow and look, especially after yesterday! haha
and now that i know that the tops of the pistons should be a tanish brown, im not so worried...

turbo is OLD AS SHIT. it has MAJOR shaftplay... even my dad didnt believe how much it had. mostly up and down... but there is some in and out...

castrol HD 30 to break in, like reccomended
and now i have castrol 5-30 in it.
and i have i think over 200miles on it...? not really sure... could be less, or more.

Cool man. I must have misread it. Turbo needs rebuilt anyway, then. Probably not enough break in yet, but its good to see someone paying attention to their car :) Is there oil in your inner cooler piping as well?

Id continue with the break in for a little longer. Depending on your rings, it could take a little longer for them to seat. Go beat the shit out of it and engine break a few times.

If you only have 200 miles on the motor then there is a good chance the rings arent seated yet. Id at least give it till 1000 miles before you start worrying. If it still smokes after a few thousand miles and you know your turbo is old and has shaftplay, thats the first place id look; the turbo.

i did like 20 high vacuum pulls... lol and that was in the first 2miles of actual driving...

just yesterday i raced my friend like 5 times? full throttle pulls in 2nd, 3rd, and i even got it into boost in 5th... haha
im not worried about the rings at this point, im worried about things in this order:

1) Turbo (would make the most sense since it smokes the worst under boost)
2) Head 'stuff' (i dont smoke on decel or cruising, so i dont think its this either)
3) Rings (which i HIGHLY doubt)

im probably going to pull my turbo on wednesday (or at least start then, and try to get it shipped on friday, so i can have it back before the following weekend so i can install it then. cause im starting shcool on monday, so the timing of all of this sucks...

i'll be quite honest. i dont wanna spend the money right now. driftmotion wants just around 500 for a STOCK rebuild... theres too many places for me to get it dont at the tone of arond 300, and they will get it done in 1-2 days as they told me.

i havent called DM, but i've asked before, and im expecting them to say a week lead time after they receive it. i just feel safer sending it to a 'turbo' shop. and the reason why im considering this shop, performance techniques, is because two other people have had GREAT success with them. so i expect good things.

My car now has similar oil-burning issues. It won't smoke on startup, but will smoke a fair bit once warm, and is using a moderate amount of oil. I pulled the downpipe and the turbo was dry on both sides. Could this be valve stem seals?

No valve stem seals will normaly be at start up, cold start more often. After it warms up the valves expand and help to seal.

Not in my case, but I have a 2JZ. Even warm it smokes on decell and will load up the exhaust with smoke if I sit and idle after heavy decell.

Bump for info. My car looks just like BigDough666's on decel, and acts like Dirgle's where it only smokes when warm.
I also burn a lot of oil if I cruise in low rpm's, like 1000-1500rpm through town, trying to be quiet. I know the decel is valve stem seals, but is the low RPM oil burn the same?

Bad valve seal (probably more than one) and the car runs hard as hell. Makes plenty of power and has run deep in the 12s. Just because its making power doesnt mean it doesnt have bad valve seals. Yours looks to be very, very slight, if any leakage. My car POURS out smoke. The car is full of smoke when I come to a stop.
