How to tell if my car is pre-89 or later.

How can I tell if my car is pre-89 0r later. I checked behind the glove box and see that the plugs are grey in color. Help would be highly appreciated. Thx

This is a pic of my car and this is what it says on my door jam. Im assuming its a pre-89, correct me if im wrong. If so, what yr wire harness and ecu should I get?

They made a LOT of changes in that year so cars were made up from whatever parts were on hand that day, LOTS of different combinations so hard to pin down depending on month of build.

What harnesses would I need. I have a yellow plug 86-88 wire harness and a grey plug 89+ wire harness. Would there be anything else I need?

Be alert to early 89 builds. I had an 89 model donor car and found that it was mostly 88. 88 HAC sensor is an addon while true 89 HAC sensors are part of the ECU. The 90 TSRM diagnostic codes did not distinguish this but an 87 TSRM code would.
