I recently purchased a supra with a wrecked rear end but a good motor. Now the motor has been siting for about 2 years. What should I do before I start the motor?

Coolant flush, oil flush, check spark plugs, new gas....

What else?

pull the EFI fuse. turn it over until you see oil pressure on the gauge. put the fuse back and then start it. you want to lube everything with oil before you have combustion.

You need to hold the accelerator pedal to the floor while cranking the engine. Once the engine turns over and starts, make sure you hold the pedal down for a good minute until the car is warmed up.:sarcasm::sarcasm:

Use to run a tad bit of tranny fluide down carbs after motors set awhile and then cranked up.. would smoke out the neigborhood... lubed up the valves whole top end of motor :} guess you can do same on a efi
some might even sujest pulling plugs and pour little oil down cly to lube up tops of rings..
and while they out makes lot easyer for starter to spin over and pick up oil quicker.....
but ya def want turbo to have some oil to it before it fires....

Pull the plugs and put about a teaspoon down each cylender and turn it over by hand about 10 times, then crank with efi fuse out till pressure is up on guage like the other guy said, lack of lube is your biggest enemy. Just my .02

ehh, we have flat top pistons and all this will cause is smoke.

But you've got it! Just make sure you change the thermostat, and if you can get the radiator rodded out.

umm.. actually i've never tried this on my supra but on all OBD II cars this will put the car into "clear flood mode" making the injectors to turn off and not fire causing the engine to crank. but like i said.. not sure if this applies to mk3's.
