Thanks for the info Brain. As I said before, thanks for the feedback and the convincing to me, resulting in getting a set. I should have mine by next week! :biglaugh:

All the hardware (cams, springs, retainers, shims, and buckets) were all sourced from www.tedcomponents.com

No vid of the engine running yet. I have finally figured out what im doing for fuel management, so no that that will be ordered shortly, this thing might make noise in a couple months once i make new exhaust and intake manifolds.

I will be mocking in a motor today actually to get started on the intake mani :)

Hey Bryan,
You going to go that injector route that we talked about? I think I found a motec set up that comes in under 7k. Stiil about 6k more than the mechanical set up we talked about.

Rich, I actually decided on the New FAST XFI, I'm familiar with the FAST system, and it can handle 16 injectors. The only difference is i will be using a front drive distributor setup instead of individual coils. The FAST xfi has a ton of features, is decently priced, will be quite a bit more streetable then mechanical, and their R&D guy was telling me how hes set them up on the PROFWD ecotec's with 3 injectors per cyl, on meth and making over 1500whp on a 2.2 liter.... So i think thats the way im gonna go :)

Sounds like the plan there Bryan, can you get a prewired harness for the injectors with that, or do you need to build one? The guys at Titan use a motec on the PRW sion and celica with 16 injectors, but had to make a custom harness for it. That accounted for like 2500.00 bucks of the cost. The one good thing about you using the FAST, is that some day in the future you can use it on other projects if it ends up off the car. With the mechanical set up we talked about, you would be pretty much stuck with it.
Keep me updated, I will be installing a AEM ECU or motec in my car this summer, but may look into the FAST if it works out well.

Ill kkep you in the loop Rich!

We had the old style FAST box on MelloYello's supra, and it worked great (700whp) The hardest part is setting up the e-dist to take place of the cps. plus with the necessary 2 MSD DIS-4s it becomes a wiring nightmare. This was the setup i was going to use, but the old style box doesnt have as many features, and this will essentially be easier and simpler (no MSD boxes to potentially fail)

hey, i thought this thread was about cams?? ;) :D

It is about cams! Your cams are so big, that you need that giant turbo to put them to use, which is why you are going to run meth, in which you need to run 16 injectors, in which you need a new FAST XFI. See! It all goes together!
