The DDP tends to introduce boost creep from what I've heard on other people's setup, I don't actually know if they've found a way to cure it or not. Some people's boost creep is so bad that goes up until fuel cut.

3.5 exhaust
Intake
Cometic Head gasket
ARP headstuds
SAFC
LM-1 Wideband
550cc injectors
Lexus AFM

I beleive that people have stated that boring out the wastegate has helped to eliminate the boost creep. However, I have a DDP and this seems to be a minor problem for me.

Also, a wideband is merely a device to monitor your air/fuel ratio. This device can be used in combination with other devices to adjust your A/F ratio. With some searching you can find good info regarding this.

I am personally running a DDP, 3 inch exhaust, an intake and roughly 10 lbs of boost. I dynoed 281 hp and 330 tq.

This only happens when you have all the mods I mention - otherwise there is enough flow restrictions that it doesn't happen.

The nice thing is, by the time you have all these mods, it doesn't matter, you just crank up your boost to wherever it would creep to and it goes like stink. :D

what i wana kno is how do you kno when 93 octane isnt enough and you need to start reducing timing.

as long as your air fuels and EGT's are good, with the right amount of timing and octane, and your not over poweing the bottom end, youll be good.

the problem is knowing how much timing you have/need octane you need and output liming for your bottom end.

Pro tuning shops have a device they attach to the engine that detects knock. The other possibility (that I haven't hooked up yet) is using the timing monitor in the MAFT Pro to detect when the ECU starts pulling timing to prevent knock.

as the old saying goes.....

Build motor...
increase boost...
increase boost....
motor blows up...
build new motor...
set boost 2 psi below previous engine max boost....

:bigthumb:

Really, there is no true way to determine max boost. You will just have to monitor all that you can, hoping for no detonation along the way. But if you research others that have about the same upgrades or similiar upgrades as you, you can use their max boost and it will be close......

Dam I've been doing it wrong. :)

Healthy engine
Intercooler and pipes
BIC downpipe and 3 inch exhaust
Intake
16PSI

For a stock CT, 16 PSI is too much. The efficiency of that turbo is 15PSI. Anything after that and you're just blowing hot air.
